CUSTOMER CARE
At Western Axolotl, we take customer care seriously. We offer a wide selection of healthy axolotls, along with all the accessories and supplies necessary to keep them happy and flourishing. With rare exceptions when we help with rehoming, all our axies are bred and raised by us in Sparks, Nevada. We also provide helpful advice and tips to our customers to ensure their pets are well taken care of. VARIATION
With the exception of "premium axies", the axolotl we ship may not be exactly the one pictured but will be very similar. We can provide photos of axies that we plan to ship if requested.
Some of our juvenile axies may have been missing a foot or toe at some time during their development. Their little arms and legs just look too much like blood worms for their brothers and sisters to resist, and despite our efforts to minimize this, some siblings have taken a nibble or two. This it totally natural and they will grow back without incident in a few weeks. It is actually kind of neat to watch and studies have been conducted on axolotl exceptional limb regeneration. Here is an article from Scientific American on this and other neat attributes of axies. We guarantee your axie will be healthy, but it may be in the final stages of growing back a few toes. If you are not comfortable with this, please let us know and we can make sure the axie we ship you does not have any visible limb growth going on.
